제목 Efficient removal of heavy metals from the synthetic petroleum industry wastewater by Fe-bentonite-activated carbon-alginate composite beads
초록 The present investigation deals with the preparation of immobilized composite adsorbent media by utilizing the iron oxide modified natural bentonite clay, coconut shell based activated carbon and alginate. The prepared composite material was characterized by SEM-EDX, XRD, FT-IR analyses. The composite beads were assessed for the removal of toxic heavy metal ions under the batch system. The adsorption capacity of composite beads was evaluated by adsorption isotherm and kinetics models. This study demonstrates that the prepared composite beads must be promising and potential adsorbent material for the treatment of toxic heavy metals ions from the petroleum industry wastewater.
