제목 | Free radical scavenging effects of heteroatom doping in ceria nanoparticles for PEM fuel cell |
초록 | Fuel cells are electronical devices which covert chemical energy into electrical energy and provide one of the most promising alternatives to the use of fossil fuels [1]. For PEM fuel cells, the long-term durability is known to be largely affected by free radicals formed as side products by electrochemical reactions in fuel cells. Ceria has been of interest as free radical scavenger which added in the membrane materials to reduce the degradation of membrane matrix by the radicals. In this work, we prepared nitrogen doped ceria nanoparticle and studied the effects of nitrogen doping in ceria nanoparticles for free radical scavenging. we investigated correlation of N atomic % and the number of oxygen vacancy in the ceria by using XPS and Raman spectroscopy. Also, by applying Fenton’s reaction and UV-vis spectroscopy, we investigated N – doped ceria had more powerful radical scavenging effect than pristine ceria. References.
