제목 Bulk Polymerization of Methyl Methacrylate by Various Late Transition Metal Catalysts
초록 In 1995, new cationic Pd(Ⅱ)-, Ni(Ⅱ)-based diimine ligand catalysts were synthesized by Brookhart and widely used for the polymerization of olefins. Some features of the α-diimine polymerization catalysts are highly electrophilic, cationic nickel and palladium metal centers and the use of sterically bulky α- diimine ligands. One of the outstanding features of this type of catalysts is their reduced oxophilicity. Therefore, they can be used as a catalyst for the polymerization of polar olefinic monomers. In this sense, the polymerizations of methyl methacrylate (MMA) have been carried out by using Ni(Ⅱ)-based diimine ligand catalysts.
This study is to investigate the effect of the steric bulkiness of the aryl group in α-diimine ligands on the activity and the stereoselectivity of the catalysts by using three kinds of bidentate Ni(Ⅱ)-based catalysts and tridentate Co(Ⅱ)-, Fe(Ⅱ)-based catalysts. We have also investigated the effect of polymerization temperature on properties of resulting poly(methyl methacrylate). We have estimated the stereoregularity and thermo property, average molecular weight of the polymer by using 13C-NMR and DSC, GPC
