Metabolic engineering of Escherichia coli for biosynthesis of 2-hydroxybutyrate containing polyhydroxyalkanoates |
초록 |
As global concerns on environmental problems and availability of petroleum resources increase, production of biomass-driven chemicals has attracted much more attentions. Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) are one of the most promising alternatives of chemically synthesized polymer since they have mechanical properties that are similar to those of petroleum-based plastics and they can be easily modified by altering monomer compositions. Here, we report recombinant Escherichia coli strains able to produce PHAs containing 2-hydroxybutyrate monomer that is provided from propionyl-CoA as precursor. Detailed results will be presented in this presentation. |
