Effect of non-toxic complexing agent Sodium Citrate on the properties of chemically bath deposited ZnSe thin films and its applications for thin films |
초록 |
In this study, we reported the synthesis & characterization of chemically bath deposited ZnSe thin films by the use at the different mixtures ratio of Tri- sodium citrate and Hydrazine hydrate (H.H.) as a complexing agent. The structural, morphological, compositional, electrical and optical properties of ZnSe films were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), Atomic force microscopy (AFM), Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), Hall Effect measurements and Ultraviolet- visible spectroscopy (UV-vis), respectively. XRD studies showed that, a small intensity peak at 3.271 A° (1 1 1) corresponding to cubic phase of ZnSe for the film deposited at 100% H.H. while other films showed no well-resolved peaks with poor crystallinity. FE-SEM and AFM studies reveled that, ZnSe grains were spherical in shape, and size varied from 35 nm to 100 nm and as quantity of the H.H. was decreased from 100 % to 20 %. The morphology of the films changed from the densely packed to loosely pack with the decreased of quantity H.H. EDX analysis indicated that, the films had an ideal stoichiometry with Zn: Se ratio 51: 49 while deposited at 100 % H.H., but films turned to Selenium rich as the quantity of H.H. decreased from 100 % to 20 %. UV-is study investigated that the films were 65 to 75 % transparent in the visible region and the optical energy band gap energy increased from 2.9 to 3.4 eV as the quantity of H.H. decreased. |
