The inorganic mercury ions and methylmercury are the most harmful substances to human health, detection of inorganic mercury ions and methylmercury in aquatic ecosystem and human is important. In this case, considering the structures of the previously reported fluorescent di-peptidyl probe using aggregation-induced-emission(AIE) process for detecting Hg2+ and CH3Hg+, 4 fluorescent di-peptidyl probes were synthesized to study the role of the peptide chirality and peptide sequence on the detection property of Hg2+ and CH3Hg+. The fluorescent probe of D-amino acids showed sensitive and selective turn-on response to Hg2+ and CH3Hg+ tested with other 18 different metal ions. The probes of D-amino acid showed similar binding affinity for Hg2+ and CH3Hg+ with those of the probe of L-amino acid, representing that the chirality of the di-peptide receptor do not affect the binding affinity for Hg2+ and CH3Hg+ in aqueous solutions. |
