제목 Surface-modified Electrospun Nanofibrous Scaffolds for Skin Tissue Engineering
초록 In recent years, several thousand people need treatment in clinic with coverage of a wound dressing, artificial skin graft, allograft or autograft skin due to deep skin demage caused by burns and ulcers. There are several approaches in new materials design for skin regeneration and skin is considered to be one of the more basic organ for tissue engineering fields. Some artificial tissue-engineered skin systems are already commercially used. An ideal architecture of a tissue-engineered scaffold plays an important role in new tissue growth. Collagen sponge, component of the extracellular matrix (ECM), was widely used as a scaffold for skin tissue engineering. The collagen fibrous structure is composed by three-dimensional fiber networks of nanometer-scale multifibrils. In this study, we introduced the electrospun nonwoven nanoscale fiber-based scaffolds (PLLA and PLGA) with a morphologic similarity to the collagen sponge for skin regeneration. The physical properties including pore diameter and fiber dimension and mechanical properties of the obtained scaffolds were characterized and cell compatibility onto surface-modified nanofibrous scaffolds by plasma glow discharge treatment were also investigated.
