제목 | Development of a novel cathode-supported direct carbon fuel cell (DCFC) |
초록 | Novel cathode-supported direct carbon fuel cell (DCFC) is designed and manufactured by using LSM/GDC as cathode-support material. Initially, LSM/GDC composite materials were developed and characterized for cathode-support applications in DCFCs. Composite powder was evaluated in terms of phase stability, sintering behavior, electrical conductivity, mechanical strengths, and microstructures. The experimental results demonstrated that the LSM/GDC composite material is appropriate for cathode support applications in cathode-supported DCFC designs. Finally, cathode-supported DCFCs, comprising porous LSM/GDC cathode supports, cathode functional layer, GDC and ScSZ electrolyte membranes and NiO/ScSZ anode layers were successfully manufactured via slurry coating and sintering process. DCFC single cell was electrochemically characterized with carbon as the fuel humidified nitrogen to initiate reforming reactions. Preliminary results show that cathode-supported DCFCs may have promising future. |
