제목 Probing photophysical properties of isomeric N-heterocyclic carbene Ir(III) complexes and their applications to deep-blue phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes
초록 We synthesized two isomeric N-heterocyclic (NHC) carbene Ir(III) complexes, f-Ir-(dbfmi)3 (1) and m-Ir-(dbfmi)3 (2), and the photophysical and electrochemical properties of the compounds were investigated. The phosphorescence depends significantly on the conformation of each isomers. Depending on their configurations, the isomers showed different photophysical properties: the emission of the facial isomer shows relative dominance of the 3LC state while the meridional isomer shows a significant 3MLCT character as evidenced by the solvent polarity dependence emission spectra and emission lifetime. Both isomeric complexes were used as dopant materials for the blue PHOLED device.
