In-vitro & in-vivo characterization of decellularized kelp-liver derived ECM scaffold for wound healing |
초록 |
Incorporation of decellularized marine plant, kelp into liver derived ECM is a compelling approach to treat skin wounds as decellularized kelp contains fuicoidan, pectin, cellulose and different types of minerals whereas ECM contains proteins and growth factors. The fabrication of ECM-kelp scaffold was done by freezing-thawing process. To enhance the healing properties, we loaded p-coumaric acid with the scaffold which is a polyphenolic compound having anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and anti-microbial properties. Initially fundamental physical characteristics were carried out by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), pore diameter determination, FT-IR, swelling properties, pH change and degradation behavior. L929 fibroblast cell and RBMSc were selected for in vitro studies which assured that the scaffold is biocompatible as well as possessing cell regenerative potentials. So this scaffold system would be a good candidate for would healing. The in-vivo investigation is underway to assess regenerative properties on biological system. |
