A series of copoly(ether ester) thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs)/clay nanocomposites were synthesized by using dimethyl−2,6−naphthalene dicarboxylate (NDC) as the hard segment, 1,4−butanediol (BDO) as the chain extender. For tuning the physical properties of the elastomers, natural montmorillonite modified with a quaternary ammonium salt as a reinforcement material dispersed poly(caprolactone) diol (PCL), poly(caprolactone)-block-poly(tetrahydrofuran)-block-poly(caprolactone) (PCL−b−PTHF−b−PCL; MW=2000), and poly(tetramethylene ether glycol) (PTMEG) as the soft segments. The content of Clay are changed from 0 % to 10 %. The (TPEs)/Clay nanocomposites were characterized by using nuclear magnetic resonance, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, universal testing machine, X-ray Diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. |
