제목 Engineering of anisotropically compartmentalized nanoparticle via electrohydrodynamic jetting
초록 Anisotropically compartmentalized microbuilding blocks have received recently attention for their unique interfacial features and potential applications that cannot be solved by isotropic microparticles. Certain applications range from catalysts, drug delivery vehicles, surfactants and sensor. We demonstrate an easy and scalable way to prepare spiral-shaped microbuilding blocks using the modified EHD(electrohydrodynamic) jet method. Janus microfibers can be obtained as a bundle of helical micro-warped fibers during EHD jet. If necessary, the collected microfiber bundles can be converted to helically patterned microcylinders using cryosectioning. These microcylinders can be modified to produce microspheres with unique microstructures that change shape under certain conditions. These techniques can provide a variety of ways to prepare spiral microstructures and can be used in a variety of applications.
