Recent achievement on electrohydrodynamic co-jetting with side-by-side needle geometry provides promising tool to prepare anisotropic microbuildinig block. Herein we show novel technical breakthrough to prepare Janus microcylinder/fibers composed of diverse pair of polymer compartments using electrohydrodanamic co-jetting with dual-core/shell needles. Diverse range of polymers can be delivered into each core, resulting in Janus microcylinder or microfibers containing different pair of polymers. These compartmentalized microcylinders or fibers with diverse compositional anisotropy provide several promising application fields such as smart colloidal particles and stimulus responsive microbuildingblocks. |
