Electrorheological property of nonspherical poly(Styrene-co-Glycidyl methacrylate) microspheres prepared by seeded emulsion polymerization |
초록 |
Nonspherical polymeric microspheres were produced by seeded polymerization using the semi-interpenetrating polymer network (semi-IPN) poly(St-co-GMA) seed particle. To achieve the symmetric structure of microspheres, the crosslinking density of seed particles was controlled. The obtained poly(St-co-GMA) nonspherical particles were coated with functionalized multiwall carbon nanotubes (fMCNTs) and applied to electrorheological fluids. The nonspherical particles were characterized by SEM, FT-IR, and Optical microscopy. The ER properties of fMCNTs modified nonspherical microspheres were observed under controlled electric fields. |
