제목 Size control of ethyl cellulose nanoparticles via anti-solvent precipitation method for foam stabilizing agent
초록 Ethyl cellulose nanoparticles (EC NPs) were prepared by anti-solvent precipitation method for bio-compatible foam stabilizer. EC NPs size was controlled from 197 nm to 504 nm, and the effect of particle size on foam stability in sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) solution was evaluated. The addition of EC colloidal solution enhanced foam stability as the particle size increased and suppressed bubble coalescence tendency by adsorption of EC NPs at the liquid-gas interface. Decreased foam collapsing rate from 6.44 ml/min of pure SDS solution to 3.91 ml/min supported the foam stabilizing effect of EC NPs. This study can be applied in personal care products with foaming ability.
