A Study on the Conversion of Poly(Vinylbenzyl Chloride)-grafted FEP film to the Ion Exchange Membrane |

Several chemical methods have been attempted to modify the benzylic chloride moiety of PVBC (Polyvinylbenzyl chloride)-grafted FEP membranes to the benzylic sulfonic acid moiety. For preparation of the ion exchange membrane. The sulfite ions were found to be inappropriate for the sulfonatation of the prepared FEP-g-PVBC film, due to the low reactivity with the fluoropolymer films. A PVBSA (Polyvinylbenzyl sulfonic acid)-grafted FEP membrane was successfully prepared by reacting with thioura and subsequent treatments. |
