Water-gas shift reaction (WGSR, CO + H2O → CO2 + H2) produces H2 for chemical processing and removes CO which deactivates fuel cells. In the WGSR, catalysts loaded with small amount of noble metals (Rh, Pd, Pt, Au) along with various supports (TiO2, ZrO2, CeO2) are developed and often used. Among these catalysts, Pt and TiO2 shows high activity due to the characteristics of the metal-support interaction. In this study, in order to increase the reaction surface area and enhance the reducibility of the catalyst surface, TiO2 was modified in the form of nanotubes. Moreover, TiO2 was doped with metal to suppress crystal growth and improve redox properties. It was found that V-doped TiO2 nanotubes meaningfully improve the activity and stability in the WGSR. |
