Direct optical monitoring of aqueous carbon monoxide under bubbling condition in biological gas conversion reactor |
초록 |
Direct analysis of aqueous carbon monoxide (CO) concentration is critical in monitoring and optimizing the biological conversion reaction using C1 gases. Conventionally, concentration of aqueous CO was estimated through Henry’s law by measuring concentration of gaseous CO with gas chromatography (GC). However, this measurement is reliable only when liquid and gaseous phase are in equilibrium. Hence, monitoring biological conversion reaction with GC is inaccurate since the aqueous CO is in nonequilibrium state in the reactor. Here, we propose to utilize direct detection of aqueous CO based on surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy by integrating spectroscopy platform which consists of metal nanoparticle structure and Raman probe into the bioreactor. At first, candidates of platform structure that avoids biofouling and bubbles are constructed with help of numerical simulation and optimal structure is selected based on signal stability. By using optimal platform, dynamics of aqueous CO saturation is analyzed by varying injection flow rate of CO gas and agitation speed of reactor. |
