제목 Large electric field–induced strain response under low electric field of lead-free BNT–ST–BA ternary piezoelectric ceramics
초록 Bismuth–based lead–free ceramics are some of the most promising candidates for actuator applications due to their large strain response. Despite these large strains, there still remains a problem for its safe transfer to practical applications, for instance, a relatively high operating field required to obtain the large strain properties. In this work, a lead–free Bi1/2Na1/2TiO3–SrTiO3–BiAlO3 (BNT-ST-BA) ternary piezoelectric ceramics has been proposed to enhance the electromechanical strain performance under low driving field. We found the highest Smax/Emax value as 707 pm/V at a relatively low electric field of 3 kV/mm was obtained in 2 mol% BA modified BNT-ST ceramics. It is suggested that the naturally induced nonergodicities in ergodic relaxor are responsible for the excellent strain properties. We believe that the obtained result in this study can be a promising candidate for actuator applications.
