Mixed metal oxide-coated titanium (Ti/MMO) consists of a mixture of two or more noble metal oxides. In electrochemical oxidation, MMO generates various types of active oxidation products such as hydroxyl radical, peroxide radicals, hypochlorite anion with strong oxidizing power in the oxygen generation reaction. In this study, we designed an electrode based on TiO2 nanofibers (TiO2-NF) containing RuO2 and IrO2. TiO2-NF as an intermediate substrate, and RuO2 and IrO2 as catalysts to generate hydroxyl radical. TiO2-NF provided a large specific surface area for the reaction between electrodes and organic pollutants. RuO2 and IrO2 crystals grew on the TiO2-NF surface and generated hydroxyl radical during the oxygen evolution reaction, and hydroxyl radical decompose organic pollutants. The actual electrochemical oxidation of organic pollutants was confirmed through UV-vis analysis after decomposing various dyes under constant current conditions. |
