제목 | Study on Tribological Properties of Cast Steel by Laser Surface Texturing |
초록 | Tribological properties of the applications are most important for saving energy or increasing serviceability in automotive industry. It is known that tribological behavior is strongly related to the topography between each surface. Recently, Laser surface texturing of tribological applications is one of most important candidate for saving energy technology. In this research, Yb fiber laser (λ=1064nm) was used to generate different structures on Cast Steel surface. Microchannels and microdimpes were generated on the flat surface by a laser ablation process. Textural features such as size, density of microchannels, dimples and orientation could be modified easily changing the laser parameters due to the flexibility of the laser system. The effect of different topographies on tribological behavior was examined by using ball-plate tribometer. Laser textured Cast Steel surfaces mated to SAE52100 balls showed that a reduction of friction could be achieved in comparison to the polished surfaces. |
