Lignocellulosic materials were composed of high molecular weight compounds such as cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin. To utilize lignocellulose, organic solvents and eco-friendly solvents were used to extract polymers and then they are applied to bioplastics, electrolytes, and hydrogen production fields. Therefore, it was important to measure the structural and thermal properties of lignocellulose after extraction. In this study, lignocellulosic materials were treated with ionic liquid (IL). The biomass treated with the IL is characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). In the TGA, it was confirmed that the pyrolysis temperature of the biomass treated with the IL decreased in the TGA. The structural property changes of the treated cellulose were compared by the use of antisolvents with different polarities. The results of this study will be of high value in broadening the field of application of biomass by providing the necessary physical properties to utilize biomass.
