Stimuli-induced fluorescence and color tunable organic materials with great performance and processability are crucial to the development of advanced optical paints. We newly designed and synthesized a self-crosslinkerable polysiloxane (SPS) consisting of a polymethylhydrosiloxane backbone and cyanostilbene side chain. The flexible backbone of SPS allows to have mesophase at low and wide temperature range and to be photoisomerized by UV irradiation. The photoisomerization of SPS induces changes in transmittance and fluorescence. In addition, SPS can be self-crosslinked by the Pt catalyst. As a result, self-crosslinked SPS was very flexible and both chemically and thermally stable. Thus, this study can be applied to advanced security paints for flexible materials.
