Capacitive performance of PPy/graphene nanosheet composite electrodes as supercapacitor electrodes |

In supercapacitor, composite of polypyrrole and graphene nanosheet (PPy/GNS) is synthesized by polymerization of pyrrole monomer and graphene. The structure of PPy/graphene nanosheet composite were characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and transition electron microscopy (TEM). Electrochemical properties were characterized cyclic voltammetry (CV) in 1M NaNO3 electrolyte. PPy/GNS composite improves capacitive performance. Such as, specific capacitance. High electrochemical performances of the PPy/GNS electrode could be due to increasing active sites for the deposition of polypyrrole provided by large surface areas of graphene nanosheets and the synergistic effect between polypyrrole and graphene. The specific capacitance of the PPy/GNS composite is much larger than pure PPy and natural GNS electrode. As a result, PPy/GNS composites were showed increased electrical conductivity and electrochemical capacitance performance. |
