제목 Utilization of the 4-cyano-4-pentylbiphenyl (5CB) functionalized block copolymer for the detection of cholesterol
초록 A TEM grid cell coated with 4-cyano-4-pentylbiphenyl (5CB) functionalized with a block copolymer poly(acrylicacid-b-4-cyno-4-undecyl acrylate) (PAA-b-LCP) followed by the co immobilization of  enzymes cholesterol oxidase and horse radish peroxidase was used to detect cholesterol in the sample. High stability and sensitivity of the immobilized enzymes were achieved for cholesterol. Cholesterol was detected by a parallel to perpendicular (bright-dark) orientational change of 5CB under crossed polarizers with a detection limit of 0.8mM. High stability of the immobilized enzymes and specific detection of cholesterol in a complex mixture could provide a convenient method for screening cholesterol levels in sample.
