제목 Synthesis and characterization of a PEDOT derivative for flexible display electrodes
초록 Flexible display technologies have been spotlighted with developments of electronic devices such as smart TV, smart phone, tablet and etc. Therefore, flexible electrodes are important for the application and stability of the devices.
Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) is a good organic material for flexible electrodes due to its excellent conductivity. However, it is insoluble in common organic solvents. Therefore, PEDOT was dispersed into water by poly(styrenesulfonate)(PSS), which is called PEDOT:PSS. It is acidic and not good for stability and contact properties with hydrophobic materials
In this study, a PEDOT derivative(PTEDOT) was synthesized by Stille coupling reaction consisting of thiophene and EDOT units. For the solubility of the polymer, hexyl side chains were introduced to EDOT. Therefore, the polymer, PTEDOT, was soluble in common organic solvents and hydrophobic. PTEDOT was characterized by 1H-NMR, GPC, CV, XRD and etc.
