Mesogenic Heat Managing Materials Preventing Rapid Temperature Rise of Display |

For the development of smart heat managing materials that protect the performance and reliability of OLED or LCD devices by buffering the rapid temperature rise, mesogen-based composites were newly synthesized and fabricated. The significant enhancement of heat storage efficiency and thermal conductivity was achieved by modulating the chemical and physical structures of mesogen-based phase change materials (PCMs) mesogenic polymer network. The newly designed mesogen-based PCMs which induce lattice vibration for phonon transfer exhibit excellent heat conduction and energy harvesting properties over traditional PCMs. The mesogen-based materials are expected to be used as advanced materials that prevent a rapid rise in temperature of the display.
