Microalgae species can produce useful products and convert Carbon dioxide to Oxygen. Among these microalgae, Haematococcus pluvialis can produce Astaxanthin which is well known by its anti-oxidant effects. In this study, scale-up cultivation was conducted in 25 L medium culture to overcome the limit of former study and a polymer film-type photobioreactor was used for cultivation. The culture condition is 20~25℃, 0~300 μmol photon /m2 /s of light intensity. Under these condition, Haematococcus pluvialis accumulated 130 mg/L of astaxanthin in 76 days and the productivity was remarkably increased. |
