제목 Preparation of SiC-C Composite by Electron Beam Curing
초록 Silicon carbide (SiC) has wide application in various industrial fields because of their good high strength and modulus, low density, excellent oxidation resistance and thermal stability. In this study, SiC-C composite were prepared from mixture of polycarbosilane (PCS), epoxy resin, and polyvinyl butyral (PVB) with weight ration of 2/1/1 and 1/1/1, respectively. PCS/epoxy/PVB mixture was cured by electron beam irradiation at 5,000 kGy. The cured composite was pyrolyzed by heat treatment in flowing argon at 1,300 oC for 1 hr. The SiC-C composite was characterized by TGA, FT-IR, and SEM.
