제목 Effect of Micro Porous Layer–free Gas Diffusion Electrode for Anode on High-Temperature Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell
초록 The high-temperature polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (HT-PEMFC) is operated over 120℃ and uses phosphoric acid (PA) as a proton conductor, so a roll of the anode to prevent leakage of PA becomes more important. In this study, a microporous layer (MPL)-free anode is fabricated on the gas diffusion back layer (GDBL) for the 3D structure of the electrode to prevent PA leakage and increase Pt catalyst utilization. The effect of MPL-free anode on the performance was investigated by physical, electrochemical analysis and single-cell test with Pt loading under 0.3 mg/cm2 in ambient pressure air at 150℃. The results show that MPL-free anode presents the performance of 0.66V at 0.2A/cm2 and peak power density is 0.36W/cm2 at mass transfer region which is higher than conventional single layer anode with MPL. Furthermore, the 3D structure of the catalyst layer in the anode read high catalyst utilization and preventing leakage of electrolyte with a short–term durability test.
