제목 | Effect ofmetal oxide on SO2 removal behavior of activated carbon at roomtemperature |
초록 | In this study,metal oxide-impregnated activated carbons (M-AC) were prepared by spray methodon the surface of AC for SO2 removal. The morphology and metal oxdieof M-AC surface was observed using energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX).The change of metal source according to heat treatment was observed using X-raydiffraction (XRD). The pore characteristics of M-AC were determined using N2/77Kadsorption isotherms. The SO2 removal experiment was performed in atubular fixed bed reactor using gas-IR at room temperature. As a result, thespecific surface areas and total pore volumes of the M-AC was reduced comparedwith the as-receieved AC. Nevertheless, M-AC showed more outstanding SO2removal. The improvement of SO2 removal capacity may be originatedfrom the chemical adsorption promoted by the metal oxide on AC. |
