제목 Synthesis and Characterization of Phase Mixed Polyurethane With Shape Memory Polymer
초록 Shape memory polymers are one of the advanced functional materials which respond to thermal stimulation. It is well known that SMP should contain fixed phase and reversible phase. Segmented polyurethane is a good candidate for shape memory materials because it is well known that it has a soft/hard segment structure.
In this study, shape memory polyurethanes(SMPUs) were prepared with poly(propylene glycol)(PPG), hexamethylene diisocyanate(HDI), neopentylglycol(NPG) and 4,4'-diphenylenemethane diisocyanate(MDI). Dynamic mechanical properties and thermal properties of these polyurethanes were characterized with DMTA and DSC. Shape fixibility and shape recovery at various temperature were also determined to observe the effects of loading temperature and recovery temperature on shape memory behavior. Increase of loading temperature decreased the shape recovery, and this phenomenon might be related to the entropy increase which occurred by the recoiling of oriented molecular chains. However increase of recovery temperature increased shape recovery, because molecular chains would have better mobility at higher temperature.
