제목 Hierarchical Structure Engineering of Superporous Hydrogels
초록 The directional freezing is an important technique to produce aligned porous materials. Porous poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAm) and their composites having cellulose fibers were successfully engineered by means of in situ photopolymerization and unidirectional freezing. Crystalline microfabrillated cellulose (MFC) was prepared by hydrolysis of bacterial cellulose and immobilized within the directionally aligned microporous PNIPAm phase using photopolymerization. The immobilized MFC reduced the swelling ratio and enhanced volume transition above the LCST transition.Whereas directionally aligned micropores increased the swelling ratio and reduced the elastic modulus above the transition. Aligned micropores facilitated the fast water infiltration, confirmed through the water contact angles with time which is beneficial for superabsorbent applications. This combination of nanofibers and aligned micropores within PNIPAm phase could explore new route to develop the superporous hydrogels
