Effects of M-site substitution on the microwave dielectric properties of CaMO4 (M = W6+, Mo6+) ceramics |

Microwave dielectric properties of CaMo1-xTexO4 (0.01≤ x ≤0.05) and CaW1-y(Mo1/2Te1/2)yO4 (0.01≤ y ≤0.17) ceramics were investigated based on crystal structural characteristics. For the specimens sintered at 825 - 985℃ for 3h, a single phase with scheelite structure was confirmed up to x=0.03 and y=0.13, respectively. With an increase of Te6+(x) and (Mo1/2Te1/2)6+(y) content, the Qf value of specimens was increased up to x=0.03 and y=0.13, respectively. The improvement of Qf is attributed to the decrease of the dielectric loss confirmed by increase of the M-site bond valence and decrease of the FWHM of the Raman internal mode. However, the Qf value of specimens was decreased above x=0.03 and y=0.13 due to the formation of secondary phases. The dielectric constant (K) of the specimens was related to the dielectric polarizability of the composing ions in both systems. The temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (TCF) was dependent on the bond valence of oxygen in both systems. |
