Phosphorus are essential components of microalgal growth media. Critical to a wide range of biochemical processes, they commonly limit primary productivity. Especially, recycling elemental phosphorus after fuel conversion via hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) of microalgae biomass reduces the need for mined phosphorus resource. Tetraselmis sp. MBEyh01L were used in assessing nutrient recycle of phosphorus from HTL solid residue separated by filtration. To recover phosphorus from solid residue, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and nitric acid were used on different acid concentrations at room temperature. Phosphate recoveries from solid residue generated by the HTL of Tetraselmis biomass were found to be effective on 0.3 N acid concentration of three kinds of reagents at an acid to solids ratio of 30 mL/g for 120 min. |
