Poloxamer407 (P407) is well-known as thermo-reversible polymer and has found various biomedical applications. However, their hydrogels have suffered from weak mechanical properties and rapid dissolution, limiting their practical biomedical applications. The aim of the present work was to obtain a P407 based thermogel system with enhanced mechanical property and physical stability. For this, a series of blend thermogels were constructed by the combination of P407 with Acyl glycol chitosans. Various blend thermogels with different polymer compositions were evaluated and compared in terms of sol-gel transition properties, mechanical properties, and physical stability. The results showed that blend thermogel systems had stronger thermosensitivity and better mechanical properties than P407 thermogel itself. Therefore, these blend thermogel systems could be a promising strategy for improving thermo-responsive properties of P407 thermogels, extending their potential application area. |
