Cyclotrimethylenetrinitramine (RDX) is considered one of the most powerful and brisant of the military explosives which usually occurs in α or β-form. The α-form is stable under normal conditions, whereas β-RDX is hard to find out in solid state and usually obtainedd by recrystallization from high boiling solvents or by heating. In present study we elucidate the phase transformation behavior of α to β-RDX by encapsulation in mesoporous materials at room temperature with acetone by using IR spectroscopy. |
