Colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals, also termed "quantum dots“(QDs), exhibit unique characteristics such as facile color tunability, pure color emission with extremely narrow bandwidths, high luminescence efficiency, and high photostability. Among them, InP quantum dots have a bulk gap of 1.35 eV, and their band gap can be tuned over the whole visible and near-infrared range by changing their size. Also, environmentally-freindly compositions of InP quantum dots make them very favoroable in display applications. In this study, we synthesize InP QDs with narrow size distribution by controlling the synthesis conditions. Finally we obtain InP/ZnSe/ZnS core/shell/shell QDs with narrow full width at half maximum. Also we show InP/ZnSe/ZnS QDs with high photoluminescence quantum yield even after multiple purifications. |
