New sulfur containing silane coupling agents synthesis |

The sulfur containing silane compounds were widely used for the preparation of organic-inorganic hybrid materials in industry (ex. tire). However, these compounds are prepared by the solvent-based reaction . To avoid the process problems, the thermal reaction of alkene with sulfur was carried out at 180℃ without solvent. The progress of the reaction was monitored by analysis of 1H NMR .But the reaction required high temperature, longer time(8H) and gave sulfurated products with high molecular weight. While when the amine catalyst was used in this system to decrease the reaction temperature. The same reaction worked well using at 130℃. The reaction was completed within 4 hours. The products were obtained at liquid phase. In this present the synthesis and characterization of new silane compounds will be discussed in details. |
