Biaxial orientation (BO) technique has been widely used for various functional packaging film manufacturing process such BOPET, BOPA and BOPP. With environmental issues of plastic wastes, global manufacturers are leading researches based on polyethylene applied with biaxial stretching technique to achieve recyclability and mono-material packaging that replaces multi-layer film structures composed of various polymers. In this study, HDPE and LDPE resins are blended to seek the suitable ratio for processability of biaxial stretching and mechanical properties. Various compositions of the HDPE/LDPE blends were prepared and their physical and mechanical properties were investigated. In addition, mono direction stretching behavior was evaluated to understand optimized processing condition for biaxial stretching under high temperature condition of the HDPE/LDPE blends. |
