Two red phosphorescent heteroleptic cyclometalated iridium(III) complexes, bis[2-(5-(9H-carbazol-9-yl)thiophen-2-yl)benzothiazoler]irdium(III)picolinato [(CBZThBT)2Ir(pic)] (1) and bis[2-(5-(9H-carbazol-9-yl)thiophen-2-yl)benzothiazoler]irdium(III)acetoacetonate [(CBZThBT)2Ir(acac)] (2), were synthesized and characterized. Photophysical properties of (1) and (2) showed photoluminescence emission at 623 nm and 630 nm, respectively. The device structure of phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes was ITO/PEDOT:PSS/TAPC/TPBi:TCTA:dopant/TSPO1/LiF/Al. The optimized device performance based on compound (1) demonstrated a maximum luminance (Lmax), external quantum efficiency (EQEmax), luminance efficiency (LEmax) and power efficiency (PEmax) of 222.9 cd/m2, 2.07%, 1.68 cd/A and 1.66 lm/W, while the optimized device performance based on compound (2) demonstrated a Lmax, EQEmax, LEmax and PEmax of 398.8 cd/m2, 4.32%, 2.06 cd/A and 1.79 lm/W, respectively. |
