The electroactive shape memory segmented polyurethanes was synthesized by simple process based on calix[4]arene, poly(ε-caprolactone)diol and 4,4'-methylenebis(phenylisocyanate) with chain extender. The polymer synthesis was characterized by FT-IR and 1H-NMR measurements. To investigate an impact of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) on shape memory behavior and the resulting properties in polymer matrix, various kinds of nanocomposites of CNTs were prepared. As a result, the CNT-reinforced polyurethane nanocomposites showed a steep increase in the mechanical properties as well as enhanced shape memory effect with an increase of CNT loading. |
