Modification of Composite Photoanode with Oxygen Evolution Catalyst Particle |

Photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting device is capable of harvesting solar photons and storing the collected energy into chemical bonds of O2 and H2 to meet the increasing energy demand nowadays. The synthesis and photoelectrochemical characterization of cobalt phosphate oxygen evolution catalyst (Co-Pi OEC) modified heterojunction photoanode comprising one-dimentional nanostructure WO3 covered with porous BiVO4 was studied. The 1-D nanostructure WO3 was prepared by flame vapor deposition (FVD) and covered by BiVO4 using spin coating method. The Co-Pi OEC particles were deposited onto the above mentioned core-shell WO3/BiVO4 heterojunction structure by photo-assisted electrodeposition method. The performance of Co-Pi OEC modified WO3/BiVO4 was investigated comparing to the unmodified photoanode. |
