제목 Droplet based on microfluidic device operated by difference in pressure without external apparatus
초록 Droplet based on microfluidic system is used to conduct a biological experiment, such as single cell analysis, cell-cell interaction. However, droplet based on microfluidic system involves bulky external apparatus. Here, we present facile microfluidic system and droplet generation system without external apparatus. The basic principle is fluid flow by difference in pressure between inlet and outlet reservoir. First, we demonstrated the ability to regulate the direction of fluid in microfluidic device. This regulation is operated by the imbalances of air supply. And then, we can generate stable emulsion droplet by only simple loading of solutions into inlet on flow-focusing device. In conclusion, this study presents a facile, economical, and apparatus-free method in PDMS microfluidic device. This method increases the usability for biology, and chemical field.
