In this study, chitosan and poly(D,L-lactic-co-glycolic acid)(PLGA) with a small quantity of PEO nanofibers were produced by electrospinning. Average diameter of Chitosan-based nanofibers was controllable from 900 nm to 600 nm. Rheological study combined with SEM characterization revealed that the spinnability of chitosan solution was substantially improved when the solution viscosity was optimized. ATR-FTIR spectroscopy was suited for investigating the presence of specific C=O, C-O and N-H vibration peaks at the surface of Chitosan/PLGA/PEO nanofibous mat. The antimicrobial activity of chitosan-based nanofibers was studied. Fibroblasts viability on electrospun sheet was discussed by MTT assay and cell morphology after 7days of culture. Cell culture showed that electrospun chtosan-PLGA-PEO blend nanofibers tended to reduce proliferation due to increased their hydrophilicity. Electrospun chitosan/PLGA/PEO blends may give the possibility of new materials for biomedical applications. |
