Electrospun PVA/PAA nanofibers containing thiol-functionalized silica nanoparticles for removal of copper (II) ions in aqueous solution |
초록 |
Effective copper (II) ions nanofibrous adsorbents were fabricated by electrospinning with a blend solution of thiol-functionalized silica nanoparticles, poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and poly(acrylic acid) (PAA). The thiol-functionalized silica nanoparticles were successfully synthesized with 3-mercaptoproplyrimethoxysilane (MPTMS) using as a base catalyst. The results of FT-IR indicated that the PVA/PAA/SiO2-SH nanofibers were functionalized by thiol groups. The nanofibers were chemically cross-linked through heat treatment for water resistance. Experiment data showed that the resultant hybrid fibers were more effective in removal of copper(II) ions than the pure PVA/PAA nanofibers. |
