We have been studying various polymeric complex fluids and soft matters with interesting functionalities under external fields including typical flow fields of laminar flow with most cases of rheological aspects and turbulent flow, electric and magnetic fields. They include turbulent drag reduction, polymer nanocomposites with clay, carbon nanotube and graphene oxide, DNA dynamics under turbulent flow, rheology of PFPE lubricant and biodegradable polymers, electrorheological (ER) fluids, electronic paper, and electrospinning under an electric field in addition to magnetorheological (MR) suspensions under applied magnetic fields. Among these, turbulent drag reduction along with DNA dynamics, Brownian motion, ER and MR fluids will be delivered along with Pickering emulsion polymerized smart materials. |
