In this study, electrospun palladium dulfide/zinc dulfide (PdS/ZnS) nanoparticles (NPs) doped poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc) hybrid nanofiber mat is introduced as an efficient and reusable photocatalyst that can be used in presence of sun-light. The solid NPs were in situ synthesized by addition of ammonium sulfide drops to PVAc/zinc acetate/palladium acetate solution. Fabrication of good morphology nanofibers containing PdS/ZnS NPs was achieved by simple, effective, low cost and high yield technology; electrospinning of PdS/ZnS/PVAc colloid. Beside the effective photocatalytic activity towards methylene blue (MB), the introduced immobilization strategy of NPs is considered an acceptable methodology to solve the problems of secondary pollution of nanostructural photocatalyst. Overall, the introduced mat is recommended to be use as low cost and reusable photocatalyst. |
