제목 | Microfluidic Macroemulsion Stabilization through In Situ Interfacial Coacervation of Associative Silica Nanoplatelets and Polyelectrolytes |
초록 | This study introduces a facile and useful methodologyfor stabilizing macroemulsions through the in situ coacervation of associativesilica nanoplatelets (ASNPs) and poly (acrylic acid) (PAA). To producemonodisperse macroemulsion, the inner fluid containing partially positivelycharged ASNPs and the outer fluid dissolving negatively charged PAA werecoflowed through a channel. Dynamic interfacial tension and interfacialrheology measurements revealed that the migration of ASNPs and PAA from eachphase to the interface led to the formation of a complex bilayered membranewith an enhanced interfacial modulus. In addition, we demonstrated thatadjusting the surface properties of ASNPs by coupling a fluorochemical enabledthe production of monodisperse fluorocarbon-in-oil-in-water doublemacroemulsions. These results highlighted the applicability of our interfacialcoacervation technology in the development of complex fluid products withvisual differentiation and drug encapsulation. |
