Iron oxides, among them, magnetite (Fe3O4) has excellent magnetic properties, biocompatibility, and environmental friendliness. So, magnetite is widely studied in biomedical applications, sensing and energy parts. As we know, few studies have focused on synthesizing two-dimensional magnetite nanoparticles and controlling the anisotropy ratio. Herein, we report synthesis method of Fe3O4 nanoparticles with the desired anisotropy ratio by controlling the morphology of α-Fe2O3 nanoparticles. As prepared two-dimensional Fe3O4 nanoparticles have been characterized employing various materials characterization methods, including Field-emission transmission electron microscopy (FE-TEM), Field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscopy (AFM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET). Results of structural and spectroscopic studies on the formation of anisotropic Fe3O4 nanoparticles will be presented together in the presentation. |
